When kids step into Primal, they intuitively jump, climb, run and negotiate the obstacles without any direction. Kids Ninja tries to nurture that creativity and curiosity whilst providing enough structure to progress and learn. Not all children take to the more conventional sports presented to them at school or through extra curricular activities and thus, are labelled not "sporty" or "athletic". Kids Ninja provides a safe opportunity for our younger members to move, without being told it's right or wrong and without the pressure of having to score points or win games.
For ages 7-12, there are no prerequisite skills or experience required, with children of all shapes and sizes participating together, for one hour.
We start with warm ups, where we pick different animal movements and race across the floor in teams. Together as a class, we then build an obstacle course, piece by piece, with each child adding obstacles and completing each stage before we add the next. This is a fantastic way to encourage creativity and gives the kids input and ownership over the class.
For an activity that is largely solo, it introduces team work, cooperation and problem solving skills, as they try to challenge themselves, whilst providing an opportunity for everyone to flourish.
Finally, each child completes a new course whilst timed and then runs the course again, trying to beat their previous time.
At Primal, it's important to us that constant progression is not lost at the expensive of fun and exploration, so competing against yourself removes the antagonistic element of head to head competition, whilst promoting the importance for consistent improvement.

Where more traditional sports may favour those gifted with innate speed or size, Ninja Warrior challenges every aspect of fitness and provides your child with a foundation in mobility, flexibility, strength, speed, agility, balance, coordination and endurance that will enable them to excel in other athletic pursuits. Most of all, it teaches them that fitness, exercise and movement need not be boring or a chore, which we hope, will aid in integrating exercise into their adult lives.
